Call for Abstracts
2021 Stratus Conference

Systems and Technologies for Remote Sensing Applications Through Unmanned Aerial Systems (STRATUS)

May 17-19, 2021
http://stratus-conference.com
Center for Tomorrow, University of Buffalo, Buffalo, New York, USA

Overview:
The emergence of low-cost and easy-to-use Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, has led to an explosion of their use for numerous applications. In particular, these new platforms have enabled new imaging and earth remote sensing technologies and applications previously unavailable due to the high cost of manned aircraft or satellites. This event is the 4th conference of STRATUS that will bring together academics, industry representatives, and domain specialists to share perspectives on this rapidly evolving topic.

Conference Modality: Hybrid (in-person attendance is contingent upon NY State COVID-19 regulations).

Pre-Registration is encouraged at the conference website: http://stratus-conference.com

Abstract Submission should be made through https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=stratus2020

Abstracts must be written in English and should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts should include title, authors’ contact information, and abstract body. The abstract can be presented either orally or as a poster. Please indicate in your submission your preference for a poster or oral presentation.

Awards:The program will include Student prizes for the best presentation and poster!

Important Dates:

Abstract submission deadline: March 1, 2021
Notification of acceptance: March 17, 2021
Early registration deadline: April 16, 2021
Conference: May 17-19, 2021
Full paper submission deadline: September 1, 2021

Full paper Submission:

A special issue of Remote Sensing-Open Access Journal (Impact Factor of 4.118) will be dedicated to selected full papers of this conference: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/remotesensing/special_issues/STRATUS_UAV

All full paper submissions will go through the normal peer-review process of RS-Open Access. Up to 5 high-quality submissions (based on the reviewers’ recommendation and guest editors’ decision) will be published free of charge (the article processing fee is 2400 CHF, equal to about 2400 USD for each paper).

Guest editors for the special issue are:

  • Dr. Bahram Salehi (SUNY ESF)
  • Dr. Emmett Ientilucci (RIT)
  • Dr. Chris Renschler (UB)
  • Dr. Peter Spacher (RIT)

For any questions regarding the abstract or full paper submission, please contact the Conference Technical and Publication Chair, Dr. Salehi, at bsalehi@esf.edu or by phone at +1 (315) 470-6550.
